Futures trading

Futures are financial contracts that derive their value from an underlying asset. When parties enter into a futures contract, they agree on the price and delivery date of the asset, while all other parameters of the asset are predetermined. Both the buyer and the seller have obligations to the exchange until the contract is fulfilled.

Exchange-traded futures, also known as non-deliverable futures, involve participants making cash payments based on the difference between the contract price and the actual price of the asset at the contract's execution date. Physical delivery of the underlying asset does not occur. These futures are commonly used for hedging against price fluctuations or for speculative purposes.
